FAQs
What are the expectations for staff attire and appearance?
At Little Friends Early Learning Center, we believe that staff attire and appearance play a significant role in creating a positive and professional environment. Here are the key expectations:
Professional Attire: Staff are expected to wear clothing that is neat, clean, and appropriate for a childcare setting. This includes slacks, skirts, blouses, or dress shirts that convey a professional image.
Comfort and Functionality: Given the nature of our work, it is essential that attire allows for movement and comfort. Staff should choose clothes that enable them to engage actively with children.
Footwear: Comfortable, closed-toe shoes are required to ensure safety while providing care and supervision. High heels or overly casual footwear are discouraged.
What is the starting rate for pay?
Starting pay ranges from $16 to $20 per hour, depending on the number of credits earned and the amount of experience an individual has in the field of childcare.
What are our hours?
For employees at Little Friends Early Learning Center, the work hours are structured to align with the center's operating hours of 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM. Generally, employees will have shifts that may vary based on their roles, typically falling within this time frame. No less than 40 per week for Full-time.
Standard employee shifts may be scheduled as follows:
Morning Shift: 6:30 AM - 3:30 PM
Midday Shift: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Afternoon Shift: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM
These shifts ensure that we maintain adequate staffing levels throughout the day while meeting the needs of the children and families we serve.
All employees are encouraged to coordinate their schedules with management to ensure coverage and support for the center’s operations. Please contact your direct supervisor if you have any questions about your specific hours or schedule requirements.
What are the center's policies on sick days and absences?
At Little Friends Early Learning Center, we consistently prioritize the health and overall well-being of our children, their families, and our dedicated staff members.
Employees are encouraged to stay home when feeling unwell or exhibiting symptoms of illness to prevent the spread of communicable diseases within the center. If an employee is unable to attend work due to illness, they are required to notify their supervisor as early as possible, preferably at least two hours before their scheduled start time.
For planned absences, such as medical appointments or personal matters, employees should submit a written request to their supervisor at least three weeks in advance whenever feasible. This allows for adequate planning and coverage within the center.
Our policies also support employees in managing their health and work-life balance. We offer a certain number of paid sick days per year, which can be utilized for personal health needs or to care for an ill family member.
By adhering to these policies, we aim to create a safe and healthy environment for everyone at Little Friends Early Learning Center.
